There are three ways to restore from an Everpure snapshot or clone in this environment, ranging from a full in-place rollback to a clone on a separate cluster. Use the table below to pick the right option based on risk and use case.

Option

Use case

Risk Recommended use
  1. Restore in place
Full rollback after approved corruption or operational failure Highest Use only when the original volumes must be rolled back and a full production outage is accepted.
  1. Restore to new volumes on the same cluster

Validation, controlled cutover, or storage swap Medium Use when source volumes must remain intact but the cluster can safely host only one database identity at a time.
  1. Clone to an alternate RAC cluster

Dev/test refresh, reporting, validation, and DR exercises Lowest Preferred pattern for non-production and recovery validation.
