Oracle and Target Environment
-
The target Grid Infrastructure and ASM environment is installed, healthy, and compatible with the source database.
-
Oracle Database major release is compatible with the source; matching RU/PSU levels are strongly recommended.
-
All target RAC nodes have consistent storage connectivity, multipath configuration, device permissions, and ASM discovery rules.
-
For a same-cluster restore, the source database is stopped before storage changes begin.
-
For an alternate-cluster clone, no source production host is in the target host group or has visibility to the clone volumes.
-
An Oracle account with SYSDBA privileges is available for recovery and database validation.
-
A Grid Infrastructure owner account with SYSASM privileges is available for ASM operations.
