6. Configure Bucket Lifecycle policy on both FlashBlades

  1. To setup the bucket lifecycle policy on the bucket created in the previous step, click the bucket name which should show the following page with options to configure Lifecycle policies. Click the + sign next to Lifecycle Rules.
  2. Give a unique rule id like rule1 and in the "Keep Previous Version For" field specify the days you want to keep the previous versions or the deleted versions of the objects. Minimum is 1d. Click Create to create the lifecycle policy for the bucket.
  3. Repeat the same on the second FlashBlade as well. The lifecycle rules are needed to recycle the deleted objects and the bucket level rule should be set on both the FlashBlades. Not setting the lifecycle policy on both the FlashBlades would result in the FlashBlades holding aged Splunk data.
