No matter how perfect an environment is configured there will always come a time where troubleshooting an issue will be required. This is inevitable when dealing with large and complex environments. One way to help alleviate some of the stress that comes with troubleshooting is ensuring that the Network Time Protocol (NTP) is enabled on all components in the environment. NTP will ensure that the timestamps for servers, arrays, switches, etc are all aligned and in-sync. It is for this reason that Everpure recommends as a best practice that NTP be enabled and configured on all components.

Often times the VMware vCenter Server is configured to sync time with the ESXi host it resides on. If you do not use this option please ensure the vCenter Server has NTP properly configured and enabled as well.
