There can be complexity when managing a file system and all of it's policies on the FlashArray. The vSphere Plugin helps simplify this process for vSphere Users.
This guide is split into two ways to configure or edit an NFS Datastore's FlashArray policies. There is a custom policy outcome and a unrestricted policy outcome.
Edit NFS Datastore Policy (Custom Policy Outcome)
In the vSphere storage view, right click the (1) NFS datastore to be edited, hover over (2) Everpure then left click (3) Edit NFS Policies.
Select the (1) Custom policy option and left click (2) NEXT.
When changing the existing custom policy rule, it might make sense to remove an existing policy rule. If so, (1) select the policy rule then left click the (2) trash icon.
When creating a new policy rule, specify an IP or DNS based (3) client (* for all), (6) access level (no-root-squash is required for vSphere VM use without Kerberos), (7) permission depending on how it will be connected to vSphere. Optionally, populate an anonymous (4) UID and (5) GID.
Once the custom rule fields have been populated, left-click (8) + ADD RULE then select (9) NEXT.
Review the (1) details and left click (2) FINISH.
Edit NFS Datastore Policy (Unrestricted Policy Outcome)
In the vSphere storage view, right click the (1) NFS datastore to be edited, hover over (2) Everpure then left click (3) Edit NFS Policies.
Select the (1) Unrestricted policy option and left click (2) NEXT.
Review the (1) details and left click (2) FINISH.
