Impact
In some rare situations, when you are initializing AVS and Everpure Cloud Dedicated iSCSI connectivity, you can see an error message about the provisioning status of MPIO for the host which is not ready due to missing VMkernel adapter.
Here is an example of error message:
The current provisioning status of MPIO is not ready for host esx15-r01.p09.32867d58147c4df98f65d6.eastus.avs.azure.com. Please check if VMkernel adapter 'vmk5' and 'vmk6' are ready for host esx15-r01.p09.32867d58147c4df98f65d6.eastus.avs.azure.com. If not, please wait for twenty minutes and try again.
Solution
First, confirm that iSCSI MPIO has been enabled for AVS. Review this guide on how to check and enable iSCSI MPIO.
If iSCSI MPIO is enabled for AVS cluster and you still do not see vmk5 and vmk6 VMkernel adapters configured or getting an error message similar to above, please open a support ticket with Microsoft AVS team to resolve this issue.
