Pure supports Offloaded Data Transfers (ODX) for any version of Windows Server later than 2012. ODX improves performance by offloading certain operations to the FlashArray itself and bypassing the host platform, such as file transfer operations. to provide array-level operations to make these operations more efficient. ODX can dramatically speed up the transfer operations while reducing host-side storage latency and CPU consumption. ODX is supported between two Pure Volumes that are not in a POD, for example:

  • Hyper-V1 <-> WindowsServer2 over SMB

  • Hyper-V1 <-> VM1’s VHDX

  • Hyper-V1 Disk2 <-> Disk3

More details on ODX and how it works with FlashArray can be found in the article “Offloaded Data Transfer (ODX)” in the Microsoft Platform Guide.
