To ensure maximum performance of each server functioning as a Hyper-V host, the server should have all resources available to it. The default power policies or settings both at the hardware and OS layers usually allow the ability to automatically slow or halt less utilized cores to save power. Leaving these settings has a dramatic effect not only on all VMs running on that host, network performance, and more.
